Mark started out as a nipper sailing Optimist dinghies on Loch Tay in Perthshire, and he has since progressed his sailing and his career  across a huge range of vesseles including dinghies, yachts, tall ships, super-yachts, small motor vessels, and large motor vessels. He holds an MCA Master 3000grt ticket, RYA Yacht Master Examiner, and RYA Advanced Power Boat Instructor. Mark has maintained a Craobh Haven base since the early 1980s. Boats have always played a significant role in Mark's life and he regularly enjoys sailing and exploring Scotland with this wife Helen and sons Benjamin and Magnus. Mark is ideally located to serve the Scottish West Coast boating community to the highest standard, drawing from his wealth of experiance built up over a lifetime wihin a range of sectors, and will deliver the highest level of service, whith knowledge, honesty, commitment and passion.

  • MCA Boatmaster Level 1 Tier 2 - Specialist Endorsements: Passenger Operations (max. 250 persons), Ro-Ro & Radar

  • RYA Yachtmaster Ocean Commercial <200gt

  • RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Examiner

  • MCA Efficient Deck Hand (EDH)

  • MCA Able Bodied Seaman (AB)

  • MCA Approved Engine Course (AEC)

  • MCA Ship Security Officer

  • MCA Global Maritime Distress & Safety System General Operator’s Certificate (GMDSS GOC)

  • MCA Advanced Fire, Medical, Survival Craft, Survival Techniques, Stability, Business & Law, Navigation & Radar

  • RYA Instructor for: Professional Practises & Responsibilities, Advanced Powerboat, Powerboat Level 2, Safety Boat, Radar, Diesel Engine and Dinghy Sailing.

  • Excellent close quarters boat handling skills using both single & twin screw, single & twin Jets, IPS and Legs
